Why is Olaplex the best??

Time we got serious about Healthy Hair
Let’s talk about the science of hair. Sounds boring, right?! But without knowing these few key factors about our hair, we are more inclined to be doing our hair a lot of damage!
Let’s keep it simple. Our hair is made up of bonds. Think of these bonds like links of a chain. One chain is hydrogen bonds. These bonds we regularly break and can be rebonded with heat or water. Think curly hair that goes straight when wet but then back curly when it dries. Or when we straighten or curl our hair with a styling tool, we are actual breaking the natural hydrogen bonds of our hair and reforming them into a different shape. We love hydrogen bonds!
Now there is another chain of bonds called disulphide bonds. These are the ones we don’t want to break but often do with chemical services. And it’s these bonds that when broken cause the damaged feel and look to our once gorgeous locks! Devastating!
Don't go for the scissors just yet!
Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you would have heard the name Olaplex. This incredible brand found a revolutionary ingredient (for those science buffs out there it’s Bis-Aminopropyl Diglycol Dimaleate) that not only protects the disulphide bonds from breaking throughout your colour service but also repairs bonds that have been previously broken. Amazing right?! And although it might sound too good to be true, we assure you the results speak for themselves!
Olaplex’s patented formula was the first of its kind and their product line has continued to build allowing consumers to not only experience the treatments in salon but at home too!
When we use the Olaplex range the benefits are instant. The integrity of the hair is maintained, the porosity is improved and there is an increase in elasticity. It allows us to push the boundaries with our hair colours (Yes, think the Kardashians) while preventing breakage and improving the condition every time we use it!
How do I use it you ask? Well the first two steps in the Olaplex range No.1 and No. 2 are in salon services you can request the next time you have your colour service (If your salon carries the Olaplex range)
You then start your Olaplex regime at home with Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfector. This treatment contains the same active ingredient as No.1 and No. 2, so it continues to protect your hair and rebuild from the inside out. If you’re not the type of person that enjoys having your head touched by other people, don’t despair! It’s not necessary to have the treatment in salon before starting your home treatments. You will still achieve fantastic results starting with Olaplex No.3 Hair Perfector.
Apply it to towel dried hair, from root to tips and leave for 10+ minutes. We then recommend you shampoo your hair with Olaplex No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo and follow with Olaplex No.5 Bond Maintenance Conditioner for ongoing strength and hydration! It’s that easy!
For hair that is truly compromised read our other blogs on Olaplex No. 6 Bond Smoother and the soon to be released Olaplex No.7 Bonding Oil to get your hair healthy again.
