The end of fall only means one thing—Afterpay Australian Fashion Week. For an entire week, all of the who’s who in Australian fashion come together to celebrate the country’s homegrown talents. It’s been lauded as the most diverse and inclusive fashion week since 1996. The fashion event also proudly hosted its first plus-size show.
For every fashion week come not just fashion trends but beauty trends to watch out for. This season, we saw varied beauty trends that we can also try ourselves.
A bold lip

The secret to achieving the bold lip look is to leave the rest of your face clean and let your lips do all the talking. Prime your lips and make sure your pucker is out to make a statement. Tip: A red shade can do magic.
Get the look: Choose a lipstick shade that can give you that confident pout like the Eye of Horus Velvet Lips.

Looking au naturel is achievable with good skincare. Go for a lightweight option like a tinted moisturizer to have a bit of coverage. Most tinted moisturisers hydrate skin and give you that glowing finish.
Get the look: Once you’ve primed and prepped your skin, apply a hydrating foundation like the Aspect Minerals Liquid foundation to further smoothen skin.
Euphoria-inspired

The second season of this popular series may have ended earlier this year, but Euphoria’s metallic eye and gem looks have also translated on the runway. We saw this at the Mariam Seddiq show with gold gems on eyes or glittery eyeshadow paired with a nude lip.
Get the look: There are no rules to this look. Use the Eye of Horus Metallic Liquid Eyeliner liberally and creatively to achieve the youthful spirit of the characters on the show.
Loose curls

Coily and natural hair take centre stage in Afterpay Australian Fashion Week 2022. There were a number of ways loose curls were played up but the most dominant one were they hung naturally on the models.
Get the look: Give more life to your curls by applying Jeval Curl Me Crazy Curl Enhancer and have fun with it.
Finger waves

Take inspiration from the 20s with a modern take on finger waves. You can look modern and chic without looking stuck in that era by balancing your look with a clean or a nude eyeshadow.
Get the look: Get those finger waves to stay still all day or all night long with the KMS Curl Up Wave Foam. The gel to mousse formula will enhance wave formation.
High ponytails

Fierce and ready to take on the world—high ponytails give off that effect. You can play up this hairstyle with a casual day look to a confident look at the club.
Get the look: Hold your head high with a strong hairspray like Davroe Complete Strong Hold Hairspray. The high-performance aerosol spray is quick-drying and could hold up your hair for a longer period.
Drawing inspiration from the runway is a great way to play up your looks or change it completely! You can go bold or go for understated elegance.
