I have very thin long hair so I love to try any styling products that can give my hair more texture, body, and volume. As the beauty junkie in me couldn't help it, I read about the Davines Liquid Spell and it seemed very promising. When this pretty hyped product by Davines fell on my lap, I thought I'd give it a shot.

What is the hype all about?

There are a thousand leave-on treatments out there each promising flawless results. And haircare brand Davines is always a step above the rest in creating some of the best products for varying hair concerns. Along with those products come an array of serums and creams to moisturise various hair types. The Liquid Spell, however, is dedicated to sensitised or fine hair that needs that oomph to give it volume.

Through a concentrate of amino acids and thermo-activated molecule, this Davines leave-on treatment fills the external structure of your hair strands giving your fine mane the body it craves. It restores slightly damaged hair and gives it softness, shine, and tone.

Figuring out this spell

I tried the Davines Liquid Spell for the first time and used it on my wet towel-dried hair by putting this leave-on treatment very close to my roots and throughout my hair. I ended up sleeping with the product by letting that spell brew into my hair strands with the intention of styling my hair the morning after.

Come morning, I started to style my hair with the treatment still noticeable on my hair. It felt greasy on the roots and at the same time drying on my strands. I can't believe that I hated a Davines product at first try.

Since I had a first bad experience with this fortifying treatment, I thought I would consider this further and figure out if I was using the product correctly.

The Davines Liquid Spell is a leave-on treatment to give your fine hair some oomph!

I decided that it would be better to get it from the experts themselves. I slid into Davines' DMs for more details on how to use the Liquid Spell. As it turns out, I used this product like a treatment and not as a styling product. After my exchange with the haircare brand, it was time for take two!

Time for another round

Once I found out how to use the Davines Liquid Spell, I jumped into action right away.

Thankfully, it was also my wash day. I had my usual shower, towel-dried my hair, and applied the leave-on treatment away from my roots and from my ear length going down.

Afterwards, I then went in with an oil spray towards the ends of my hair and began to style it with my hairdryer. And, boy, what a difference it made! The Davines Liquid Spell and I became quick best friends after a change up. The effects were noticeable with my hair looking fuller. The volume I've wanted in so long was achieved. Plus, it added a lot of texture to my fine boring hair. I felt upgraded!

The best way to use this product is by combining it with another Davines product like Oi Oil. This is a great product to add to your styling routine if you want your hair to look shiny and be full of texture.

I'm honestly glad to have given this product another try. That one bad impression I had of it initially was quickly dispelled once I got the results I've been looking for. Now that I've learned to use the Davines Liquid Spell, my confidence with my hair has shot up and my fine hair finally has that body I've been craving for so long.
