Lip Service – How to keep your lips luscious

The skin on your lips is also thinner that the skin on the rest of your body, which requires us to be more delicate with our approach to them.
Did you know that your lips have no sebaceous glands? And their only source of moisture is your saliva? But as saliva evaporates quickly, it then becomes a contributing factor to drying your lips out! This is why it’s so important to protect your lips by following these simple tips.

2. Don’t forget your lips when applying sunscreen – Our lips don’t have melanin, our natural skins defence to ultraviolet rays, so they are then more susceptible to sunburn.
3. In this winter weather, we are often in environments with artificial heating that draw the moisture out of the air – as well as our skin. Using a humidifier in your house or room will help replenish the moisture in the air and not be so detrimental to your skin and lips.
4. Give your lips a treat every now and then! We often set the time aside to give ourselves a little at home facial. But how much attention do you give your lips? Try starting with a lip exfoliator and then finishing with a lip treatment.
